We open registration for up to 12 Veteran Single Parents who will participate, and then our media crew arrives on a Thursday to capture each pre-registered in their own element by camera and/or video - this could be in their home, workplace, or on the street. Each will then attend a mini-beauty makeover and photo shoot on Friday at a designated venue; culminating with a Fashion, Art, and Luxe expo held on Saturday. In addition to fashion and beauty vendors, art exhibits, and a small fashion showcase, we will show a short empowerment film screening, host empowerment coaching circles on topics of self-discovery, healthy & meaningful relationships, life coping skills, and personal creative expression. In this weekend, we combine the learning curriculum along with a variety of hands-on personal and professional image development exercises.
The SOV StoryBook Tour has joined forces with hair and makeup artist; fashion designers & stylist; and photographers & videographers to work with us to pamper, transform, and capture the transformation of a participant. Our professional team of personal and professional development coaches help with the training component that targets the inner transformation by hosting a unique event that includes workshops, a job fair, and artistic exhibits on one of the days we are on location. We also form alliances with media outlets who cover our city tours and recognition ceremonies, pre, during and post weekend; and employers willing to hire our participants who complete the training.

Survivor Theatre Project's mission is to empower survivors with the tools to break silence and end sexual violence through empowerment, creativity, and public performance.
We are a performance company committed to survivor leadership in the movement to end sexual violence. We believe that art is a powerful tool for individual and collective transformation.
Survivor Theatre Project works to . . .
* offer women and gender queer survivors a creative space for healing, empowerment, and social change work.
* pioneer survivor-led arts activism to promote dialogue and make change in our communities
Our Vision
Survivor Theatre Project brings survivors themselves into the center of the effort to break silence and end sexual violence through empowerment, creativity, and public performance. Performances are engaging, poignant, funny, and provocative, and open up dialogue within our communities to address the reality of how common sexual violence is, and what we can do to stop it.
We are guided by an anti-oppression framework to allow multiple, complex identities and experiences deserving of expression, exploration, recognition and healing, within the context of sexual violence. We define sexual violence to include child sexual abuse, incest, ritual abuse, sex trafficking, rape, molestation, sexual violence in institutions (such as prisons and the military), on the border and as a tactic of war.
